MATCHFIT CNC Workholding Kit

Successful milling with a benchtop CNC machine requires securely holding parts from above and at the edge of a workpiece. Cutting parts from a larger blank is best accomplished with overhead clamps holding stock to the machine bed. Work completed across the part surface must be held by the edges to prevent damage to the clamps and bits. Microjig’s CNC Workholding Kit utilizes the MATCHFIT Dovetail hardware to provide a secure workholding solution under both conditions, with no tools needed for most setups.
The MATCHFIT CNC clamping kit is a versatile tool that empowers you to secure your workpieces in various ways. The Edge Guides, for instance, locate along the spoilboard to provide an accurate, low-profile Origin Point for easy setups, especially when repeating programs. The Ring Clamps can quickly lock and unlock parts anywhere along the work table, giving you full control. The Ramp Clamps use ramps to hold parts, applying force in and down to prevent movement and lifting. The U-Pad top clamps hold parts from the top edge, preventing lifting and sliding for a superior hold on parts from 1/32″ to 1-1/8″ thick. With this kit, you’re in the driver’s seat of your work-holding techniques.
NOTE: This kit works seamlessly with a spoilboard (not included) that protects your machine bed and provides the MATCHFIT Dovetail Grooves for the clamping tools. Full instructions for making your own spoilboard are included with this kit.

• This kit works seamlessly with a spoilboard (not included) that protects your machine bed and provides the MATCHFIT Dovetail Grooves for the clamping tools. Full instructions for making your own spoilboard are included with this kit.
• When moving from one cut to the next (rapid travel), predicting where the head might move can be difficult. Microjig recommends setting the Z-Clearance for fast travel to 2″ (50 mm) when there is any chance of the head moving over a clamp position, especially with machines that return to X0, Y0 when a program finishes. This precaution ensures a smooth and safe operation while lessening the chance of causing inadvertent damage to your clamping parts.
