Woodworking Project Paper Plan to Build PA Dowery Chest

The robust color and exuberant patterns of the flower and animal motifs are tastefully created to be most characteristic of Pennsylvania Dutch designs of German ancestry. The painted designs can be traced directly onto the wood using the full size patterns provided and they are color keyed for ease in painting. It makes a great chest regardless of finishing, as dove tail joinery is to be used at the corners. The chest has been designed to be made of solid panels of glued-up boards fastened at the corners. Use the joinery of your choice, as it will not change the overall dimensions. This is an intermediate to advanced level project. Painting aspect will require some skill even with the full size patterns, but it’s nothing a good tole painter can’t handle — and the effect is well worth the effort. This is a blueprint style plan which is heralded by beginners and experts alike as being a pleasure to work from because all parts are printed in full size. Joinery and curved workpieces is actual size and therefore you can measure and trace straight from the drawing if necessary. A bill of materials doubles as an exact cutting list, there is a detailed exploded diagram, and all hardware requirements are provided.
