#11 x 3/16″ Gouge Fixed-Handle Palm Carving Tool

The Flexcut FR409 is a fixed-handle palm tool with a #11 x 3/16″ wide (6 mm) razor sharp blade suited to smaller projects (and precision work) as to roughing out blanks. This 5″ tool fit comfortably in the palm of your hand. Flexcut blades, as the name implies, are flexible to give you more control over your cuts. Made of high carbon spring steel, the tool shank gives just enough to follow the contour of carving project. This unique material also contributes to its excellent edge holding capability as the shank is tempered like a spring while the tip is hardened to Rc 59-61, then hand honed and polished. Flexcut gouges can be used for cutting curves,or adding texture to relief carvings. Whether you are a woodcarver or sculptor these Flexcut gouges are perfect for rapid wood removal or for sharp interior curves on all your woodworking projects.
